Granular date control
Hide and show weekends in date columns
You can now choose to include or exclude weekends on a date or timeline column on a per-column basis. This overrides your workspace’s default weekend settings, letting you tailor date calculations to project needs. This is useful when some workflows consider weekends part of the timeline (e.g. events) while others skip them (e.g. workdays only).
WorkForm improvements
Limit multi-select and save as draft
WorkForms got a few helpful enhancements:
- When using a multi-select question, you can now set a maximum number of selections. Once the limit is reached, other options are grayed out.
- You can save incomplete submissions as drafts. A link is generated allowing respondents to return later and complete the form.
These updates improve form usability, especially for longer questionnaires or multi-step processes.
Inviting users got easier
Streamline requests to invite users
Account members can now submit a request to invite new users directly through a button. Administrators receive a notification and can approve the invite with a click. This removes friction from on-boarding external collaborators or team members who don’t yet have access.
Workspace permissions
Workspace-level integration permissions
Within each workspace, admins can now define who can create or edit integrations. This gives better control over automation and connected apps at a workspace level, rather than applying blanket permissions across the account. This is particularly helpful in organizations where only certain roles should link external services or APIs.
Practical tips
How to use these monday.com updates
Here are a few suggestions to make the most of these new tools in your workspace:
- Use hide/show weekends per column. Apply it to project timelines where weekend work matters, and disable it in boards tracking business-day work.
- Improve form flow and enforce limits. Use multi-select limits to guide responses (e.g. pick top 3), and allow users to save drafts for long forms.
- Streamline team access. Let collaborators request access directly; reduce friction in onboarding stakeholders or guests.
- Control integrations at workspace level. Assign integration creation rights only to power users or admins to maintain consistency and security.
August 2024 brings enhancements that balance usability and control. With hide/show weekends, you get finer date logic. WorkForms become smarter with selection limits and draft saving. User invite requests simplify access control, while workspace-level integration permissions tighten governance. Combined with confirmed updates in canvases, workflows, and folder structure, this month’s release helps make monday.com more flexible and enterprise-ready.
