See how external file
and image sharing
can work
Your monday.com board remains the place where your team manages files and related information. Board to Website Widget publishes selected board content, including supported files and images, as a separate web based view for your external audience. When your monday.com board changes, you can republish the widget manually or use monday.com automations to publish updated content on a schedule.
1. Select your monday.com board
Add the Board to Website Widget app to the board containing the files, images and related information you want to share externally.
2. Configure the shared view
Choose the items and columns to publish and include the File Columns containing the documents or images you want external users to access.
3. Publish and share the result
Publish your widget and share its public URL with external users or copy the embed code to display the same content on your website.
When a monday.com shared view is enough
monday.com already lets board owners publicly share supported board views through a shareable link or iframe embed. However, files stored in a Files Column are currently not visible or downloadable in a public shared view. A native shared view can still be the easiest option when:
- External users only need to see board values
- Files and images do not need to be accessible
- The standard monday.com presentation works for your audience
- You do not need additional website specific functionality
For public board information without file access, there may be no need for an app.
When external users need files and images
Board to Website Widget is designed for cases where files stored with your monday.com board information also need to be available to people outside your workspace.
Files, documents and images from monday.com File Columns can be included in the published website widget alongside the related board data. The resulting view can then be shared directly or embedded into your website.
This is useful when the files themselves are an important part of the information you want to publish externally.
