When a monday.com shared view is enough

monday.com already lets you control the appearance of public shared views by applying board filters and hiding columns before saving and sharing the view. A native shared view can be the easiest option when:

• You only need a simple filtered board view
• Hiding columns provides enough presentation control
• The standard monday.com presentation works for your audience
• The information you are sharing is suitable for a public view

For straightforward public sharing, there may be no need for an app.

When you need control over shared boards

Board to Website Widget provides its own column settings and board filters specifically for the published website widget. These settings work independently from your native monday.com board filters.

You can choose the displayed columns, create multiple filter rules and use URL parameters to show different subsets of the same board in different places. The resulting widget can then be shared directly or embedded into your website.

This is useful when the external result needs to be more focused than the board your team works with internally.
