Introduction
Use conditions to show or hide specific content sections and pages to select clients in your client portal
Why would you want to display content to one client but not the other? Let's assume you have built a customer portal with the Client Portal Builder for monday.com and you share board data from monday.com with your clients. This works perfectly out of the box. And now let's assume you have two different types of clients which are different target groups. Setting up a separate client portal for the second client type isn't a very streamlined approach, causing double maintenance and repetitive work. That's where Page conditions and Page sections shine. Watch the video tutorial below to get a quick overview of the feature.
Getting started
Prepare your clients board to make conditions work properly in your client portal
Before we can configure any content section or page conditions in the builder, we need to add one or more status columns to our clients board. In this case we keep it simple and just add one status column for now. Edit the status labels to your needs, here we apply one type for Designer and one for Developer. Both representing our two types of clients accessing our client portal.

Page conditions
How to apply conditions to portal pages
After adding and setting up our status column on the clients board, we are good to add and configure a page condition. For that we head over to the Client Portal Builder app and open the Builder tab. Then select the dedicated page from the left sidebar, which should only be displayed conditionally. Now click the Page conditions button in the page toolbar, as illustrated in the screenshot below. Then proceed here.

Section conditions
How to apply conditions to content sections
After adding and setting up our status column on the clients board, we are good to add and configure a section condition. For that we head over to the Client Portal Builder app and open the Builder tab. Then select a page from the left sidebar, which contains the dedicated section that should only be displayed conditionally. Now click the Section conditions button on the target section, as illustrated in the screenshot below. Then proceed here.

Condition configuration
How to configure a condition
Now let's set up the actual condition by clicking the Add condition button. Choose the Status column we created before on our Clients board from the first dropdown. Then select a conditional Operator from the second dropdown that fits your needs. And then type in the desired Value which should match the status for this specific condition. Based on the selected conditional operator, the third textfield might dissapear. If you have multiple status columns added to your clients board, you can combine multiple conditions as well. For that just click the Add condition button as often as needed. Then save the condition and preview your portal.

Use cases

While Home sellers see listing performance, offers received, and reports. Realtors access seller leads, property status updates, and staging workflows.
Agency Portal
Your client portal serves both, retainer clients and project-based clients. Retainer clients see ongoing project boards, automated progress reports, and recurring task templates, while one-time project clients see milestone-based timelines and final deliverables only.

Your portal serves both, preferred vendors and new vendors. Preferred vendors see bulk order forecasts, automated POs, and direct messaging access, while new vendors see qualification checklists, compliance forms, and approval workflows before being added to the preferred list.
