Configuration
How to enable Item Comments in your portal
It's super easy to get item comments rolling. First open the Client Portal Builder app and enable Item comments in the designated Board section where you would like collaborate with clients. You can always disable the feature with a click, in case you need to revoke access for your client.

Then open the monday.com board that's associated with the Board section from above. Click on one of the board items to exand its item view. Then click the + button to add the Client comments view. You might first need to click Explore more views, before you can search for it. Once added, it should look like in the following screenshot.

Comments to clients
How to write comments from monday.com
Now that you have successfuly added the Client comments item view to your board, you can start collaborating with your client right from your monday.com workspace. Head over to the board item of your choice and open the view. First, choose the target client portal from the left dropdown – usually you only have one. Then choose the target client from the right dropdown you want to communicate with. If you wonder why you have to choose the client here is due to the fact, that one board can be shared across multiple clients. This specific selection ensures that no communication is exposed to other clients. Everything else is pretty straight forward: Write your comment, add emojis if you like to, and optionally attach one or multiple files.

When your comment has been created, you or your client can reply to it. In the following screenshot, we replied to ourselves a couple of minutes later. Now lets see how all of this looks from a clients perspective in their client portal, proceed to Comments from clients further below.
