Grant clients access to your monday client portal with login methods
Login methods define how a client can sign in to your Client Portal. For each client, you can create one or more login methods, such as Credentials with email and password or Google authentication. Login methods are created and managed per client inside your Clients Board via the Client settings view.
Overview
What are login methods?
A login method represents a way for a client to access the portal, not a user account. Each login method belongs to a client item on your Clients Board and allows one or more people from that client "organization" to sign in.
Typical setups include:
- One shared login method per client, when the client itself is a person
- Separate login methods for different stakeholders of the same client
Login methods are not user accounts:
- Portal interactions are executed on behalf of the client item, not the login method
- Login methods are only used for authentication and access control
Did you know?
Login methods are managed independently from your native monday.com user accounts and don't take up seats. They are stored securely in your monday.com account storage infrastructure.

Available login method types
Credentials Popular
Create a login using an email address and password. Use this option when:
- you want full control over credentials
- your clients do not use Google authentication
- you want to create logins manually or via workflows
Google authentication
Allow clients to log in using their Google account. Use this option when:
- your clients are using Gmail or Google Workspace
- you want to avoid password management
- you want to provide a quicker login experience
Did you know?
You can mix and match the different login method types across different clients. That means you can use Credentials for one client, and Google authentication for another one. Whatever fits best.
